Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Renovation Tour?
A Renovation Tour is a tour of a completed Renovation project, or in some cases this could be a Custom Home Build.
Sometimes our visitors ask us if the toured home is for sale but it is not – it is a private residence. This is a one day, open house style tour, usually for a period of 6 hours. At a Pinnacle Renovation Tour you can expect to have a detailed guided tour by one of our Renovation Consultants, Architects, Production Staff, Interior Designers or Trades who will educate you on the criteria of the Renovation and how we met the criteria. We typically have before and after floorplans and photos for you to take a look at as well. Not to mention we always have a great draw to enter to thank-you for attending!
Organizations such as Renomark™, an association providing Calgary’s Consumers with accessibility to high-quality, ethical Renovation companies, typically puts on city wide Renovation Tours twice a year in the Spring and Fall. This is an opportunity to spend a day touring several Builders’ projects to get a feel for their craftsmanship and meet their team. As a Renomark™ Renovator, Pinnacle Group regularly takes advantage of these bi-yearly tours.
In addition, we have made it a mandate to open the doors to as many of our projects as possible, so the public can see first-hand what the Pinnacle experience is all about. We believe that transparency and accessibility can only be achieved when a Builder opens the doors to their projects; allowing you true insight into their staff, trades and workmanship as well as providing you with an opportunity to ask questions about your own project requirements with no strings attached.
We strongly encourage you to ask any Builder you are considering for your project to tour you through at least one finished project and if at all possible, one that captures similar design needs of your own.
What is a Pre-Board Tour?
A Pre-board Tour is a tour of a project in progress.
Pre-board means the home is completed up to the installation of the drywall. The ability to see what’s behind the walls in a home is rarely offered to the public; in fact, Pinnacle Group is the only Renomark™ Renovator to embrace such a tour. Attending a Pre-board Tour will help you gain knowledge and perspective about common industry short-cuts that are often “covered up” by Builders and not discovered by Homeowners until years after the completion date.
Paul Klassen, CEO and Founder of Pinnacle Group reveals, “We feel showcasing our projects in progress is essential because it provides insight into Pinnacle’s attention to detail and concern with every aspect of the project. For us it is not just about the finished aesthetics; it is about the entire functioning of the home. We cannot live our creed Creating Homes For Life™, without complete due diligence to the entire build process. Attendees of these tours are blown away as they cannot believe the level of craftsmanship and the intricacies of the decisions that are incorporated at this point in the build process that significantly affect the entire home. Seeing this first hand provides a whole different view point into the level of commitment we have to building the very best for our Clients; as well, it demonstrates the incredible quality of our Trades.”
We strongly encourage you to ask any Builder you are considering for your project to tour you through at least one project in progress.
Why Would Your Client Families Want to Open Their Home to the Public?
We credit the opportunity to showcase so many of our home projects to our amazing Clients.
It is because we have built an incredible relationship of trust and respect throughout the build process, and ultimately that our Clients are so thrilled with their completed projects, that they feel comfortable allowing us to open their private residence to the public. As well, our Client Families have had the opportunity to attend our tours in the past which they recognize as being very helpful in their decision to choose Pinnacle as their Builder.
What Can I Expect From a Seminar?
Typically we rotate our Seminars in several community centers around Calgary. Sometimes it is Pinnacle Staff that presents the topic material, and other times we will bring in specific Trades, Suppliers or Partners to augment the material and provide their insight and expertise. Our seminar topics vary but in the past have included everything from understanding why you want to Renovate, what you should consider when hiring a Builder, financial options when Renovating or building a Custom Home, green initiatives in the Renovation industry, Universal Design considerations to room specific Renovation topics. Usually our Seminars are about 2 hours in length and include both a presentation and Q & A portion (along with coffee and doughnuts!!)
